Terms of Service

What Crier is

Crier produces narrated audio editions of written work: checked narration manuscripts, synthesized audio, transcripts, and delivery via private podcast feeds or finished audio files ("the Service"). The Service is operated from Ontario, Canada.

Your content and your rights

What you may not do

Founding subscriptions and pricing

Founding seats are annual, prepaid, and keep their founding rate for as long as the subscription remains continuously active. Public pricing may change; we will always announce price changes to existing subscribers before they apply. Refund terms — including the Empty-Room Guarantee — are in the refund policy, which is part of these terms.

Service quality and its limits

Checked editions are reviewed by a human before delivery, and we fix narration errors we introduced at no charge. Beyond that, the Service is provided as-is: we do not warrant uninterrupted availability, and our total liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential damages.

Ending things

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time; deletion works as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend accounts that violate the section above, with notice and a chance to respond except where the violation is doing ongoing harm.

Housekeeping

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stand. Changes that matter will be emailed to account holders before they take effect. Questions: [email protected].
